Richard Bartlett Schroder famous as Rick Schroder is a renowned actor associated with American Cinema. Rick Schroder regularly appears on the small and the big screen. Rick Schroder has the credit of winning a Golden Globe Award at a tender age of nine, demonstrating his congenital acting abilities. Rick achieved this feat after his outstanding portray as T.J. Flynn in the movie titled The Champ of 1979.

Rick Schroder was born on April 13th, 1970 in Staten Island in the American state of Newyork. Schroder’s father Richard Bartlett Schroder, Sr., was holding the post of district manager in a telephone company while his mother Diane Schroder was serving as a full time employee within the same industry. Rick Schroder has only one sister named Dawn. In 1992 Rick Schroder married Andrea Bernard and elite interior designer. Andrea Bernard was a participant of American reality television series titled Top Design aired through the popular television network Bravo. They have four children, two sons named Holden and Luke and two daughters Cambrie and Faithe Anne.

Rick Schroder was involved in acting and modeling for commercials right from infancy, he first featured on the screen, when he was just three months old and as a result of that he landed a breakthrough in 1979. The Champ was his debut film which proved his acting talent in front of global audience. Rick Schroder got the Golden Globe award in the category of Best New Male Star for his splendid performance. Later at the age of ten in 1980 Rick Schroder featured in a Walt Disney movie titled The Last Flight of Noah's Ark directed by the famous director Charles Jarrott. The Last Flight of Noah's Ark turned out to be a block buster movie adding one more splendid performance to his credits. In the same year Rick Schroder played the title character with famous and honorable English star Alec Guiness in the movie titled Little Lord Fauntleroy.

In 1982 Rick Schroder made his debut on the small screen playing protagonist as Ricky Stratton in a television series titled Silver Spoons. After completing the work of Silver Spoons Schroder joined Calabasas High School a reputed high school, in Calabasas, California in order to cover the academic lag due to his busy schedule. Rick Schroder in VH1’s list got the 18th rank in the list of 100 Greatest Kid Stars and 33rd rank in VH1’s list of the 100 Greatest Teen Stars.

To establish himself as an adult actor Rick had his own share of struggle , primarity due to his perceived teenaged and child image. In order to demonstrate himself as a serious actor Schroder changed his name from Ricky to Rick and agreed only for selective roles. In 1989 Rick Schroder acted in a Western mini-series titled Lonesome Dove and Return to Lonesome Dove a sequel of the earlier one, his roles in these mini series helped him penetrate into the league of mature actors. Rick Schroder act as Danny Sorenson in the 1999-2002 TV series NYPD Blue, Dr. Dylan West in 2005-2006 TV series Strong Medicine and Mike Doyle in the 2007 TV series 24 worked for him and left an impact on audience. Rick Schroder also acted and directed a music video for the song of Alison Krauss and Brad Paisley. Rick Schroder’s daughter and son also made their appearances in this music video. In the year 2005 this video was awarded Collaborative Video of the year and its director Schroder was honored as “Director of the year” for his exceptional direction to the video. This award was presented by CMT Music Awards a fan vote based award ceremony for country television and music video performances.

Rick Schroder is working as celebrity ambassador for child abuse treatment and prevention sorority named Childhelp. Rick Schroder endorses republican views and had supported George Bush in his campaigns.
